"With action comes hope" ... It's a wrap on #ChangeNow 2024 in Paris and it was an absolute pleasure to meet potential clients and partners, build connections and see old friends. Thank you to the ChangeNow team for taking care of all of us and to the panelists, keynote speakers and moderators for the inspiration. Lubomila Jordanova talked about what actually makes a company sustainable and what does it take to transition in actual numbers and details - a much needed wake up call for the big players on the market! 🌱 We met Dr. Philipp Staudacher at an EIT program years ago and now you can get in touch with him if you lead a nature positive company in need of some acceleration with https://i4n.ch/ 🚀 To be honest, the view on bioplastics in France is moving a backwards and is less clear than ever. Our concerns are shared by The French Assosiation of Biosourced Compostables who asks:   - the lifting of regulatory obstacles to the development of the sector ( decree of March 15, 2022 limiting packaging that can be collected jointly with biowaste) and following the opinion of ANSES “recommending to prioritize the collection of materials biodegradable plastics in an industrial sector »   - to allow the label "compostable" to be affixed to a product when it meets the requirements of the harmonized European standard for industrial composting in accordance with European law and more generally, the adoption by France of a more encouraging position with regard to of its mature innovations;   - reaffirm that organic recycling, industrial composting, indeed constitutes material recycling, like the European position, and integrate it into the 3R strategy;   - the establishment of a pact with all the ministries concerned and the sector, so that the latter is fully involved in future discussions impacting its development, particularly with regard to the governance of biomass;   - that a high minimum rate of incorporation of biosourced material be required, in order to promote products truly integrating a significant proportion of biomass as part of support for the national bioeconomy and to prevent them from being subject to competition from products that do not incorporating only a small percentage of biosourced raw materials. The Research and Innovation Week 2024 is the European Commission's flagship event and just celebrated 40 years of framework programmes. 💡 EU Commissioner for Innovation Iliana Ivanova opened the EIC summit welcoming the new EIC ambassadors (See who they are 👉 europa.eu/!Dt4MDv ) continuing with signing an investment agreement on stage with DRONAMICS! ✈ The entire event was buzzing of high-level speakers, policy debates, funding and networking opportunities, dedicated workshops, pitching sessions to investors and exhibitions showcasing EU-funded projects. As for myself - I've been reappointed as a European Innovation Council (EIC) Ambassador and had the pleasure to join fireside chat, discussing the challenges of investing in Widening Countries.
