Boosting the change into a circular bioeconomy

Boosting the change into a circular bioeconomy

IRODDI project aims to take advantage of the residual streams of oils and fats refining

Contribute to moving to a bio-refinery based sustainable model

Close loops with circular bioeconomy

Maximize the efficient use of available resources

Are you interested in biorefineries?

IRODDI project will use biorefinery approaches including the synthesis of new products obtained from biomass that will compete with their fossil-based counterparts

Do you need to reuse/recycle residual streams?

IRODDI project will take advantage of oil and fats refining streams to extract high-value compounds

Would you like to produce new bio-based products?

IRODDI project will obtain bioproducts for different applications based on biological side streams

The IRODDI Project has been able to demonstrate that industrial models based on the bioeconomy can work successfully.

To this end, it focused on:

  • The integral revaluation of deodorisation distillates: a by-product obtained in edible vegetable oil refining processes

This has made it possible to:

  • Replacing fossil fuel-derived components from different industries (cosmetics, industrial cleaning, adhesives…) with bio-based raw materials.
  • Contributing to the circular economy, giving new use to previously waste materials
  • Improving the environmental impact of industrial products by reducing emissions
  • Modernising and strengthening industrial value chains in the European Union
