Romania is taking a big step forward in transforming city transport. The country’s first urban mobility accelerator, invest Urban Mobility Accelerator, has officially launched its inaugural programme, welcoming 14 innovative teams selected from over 50 European applicants

Organised by Iceberg Plus and Cowork Timișoara, with support from EIT Urban Mobility and ADR Vest, the programme runs from July to October 2025.

The Urban Mobility Accelerator focuses on improving how people and goods move through urban spaces, with a big focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovative technology.

The following steps for urban mobility

The selected teams will participate in an intensive acceleration programme that includes over 10 hands-on workshops, personalised mentoring, and the opportunity to test their solutions in real-life urban environments across Romania’s Western Region. From micromobility to traffic optimisation and innovative data platforms, the cohort represents the next wave of urban innovation.

The Urban Mobility Accelerator journey will culminate in Demo Day Timișoara, where the startups will pitch their solutions to a jury of investors, public authorities, and international experts.
