I graduated with an MBBS degree from the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, India, and subsequently obtained my MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I also completed my MS in General Surgery, during which I developed a profound interest in Accident and Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sports Medicine. My academic journey includes securing the first rank in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Super-speciality (MCh CTVS) entrance exam at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. I then served as a Senior Resident Doctor at AIIMS for over three years. During this period, I also earned a DNB in General Surgery and fellowships in Intensive Care Medicine, Family Medicine, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition, and Hospital Management. I am a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS). I am up-to-date with the latest protocols in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). I am a certified Advanced Provider and Global Instructor of ATLS by the American College of Surgeons and Wilderness Medicine by Adventure Med, USA. Additionally, I am a World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) certified Medical Professional for major international games. My professional journey includes being appointed as a ConsultantClinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Sciences at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala, India. I also served as a Senior Consultant in Cardiovascular Thoracic, Trauma, and Emergency Surgery at Medanta Medicity, India. I had also had the opportunity to serve the rural population of India, being associated with Holy Family Hospital Ranchi – with Christian Missionaries of North India – CNI. I am also associated with a few NGOs globally, where I commit to performing free surgeries for rural and underprivileged people worldwide. I am also associated with Carnival Corporation as the Chief and Lead Doctor and Head of the Medical Department, based in St. Clarita, California. In this role, I oversee comprehensive medical operations, ensuring the health and safety of vessels. I am also associated with companies like MSC, NCL, and Disney Cruise Lines as a clinician and advisor.
As a veteran sportsman (National level Archer, Karate Instructor-Black belt 5th Dan, National Weightlifter) and an enthusiastic sports administrator, I was honored to be the Chief Expert Specialist Doctor and COVID Liaison Officer and Infection control specialist for the Tokyo Olympics, subsequently as Chief Medical Officer and COVID Lead Supervisor for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and Chief Medical Officer and NADA Liaison Officer appointed by the Paralympic Committee of India. Additionally, I served as the Tournament Doctor for the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou and the World Seniors Championship in Jeonju, South Korea, appointed by the Badminton World Federation. I am currently the medical committee head of the Asian Paralympic Committee for the tenure 2024-2027. I am also the Chief Medical Officer for the Fencing Association of India and the past Chief Medical Officer, with a long-standing association with the Indian Olympic Association. I am also a WADA-certified medical professional for Major games and Tournaments.
