Dr Francesc Xavier Cos is a general practitioner and member of the innovation and research support team at Institut Català de la Salut in Spain. His main interests include innovation, health institution management, research, and education, with a focus on diabetes.
From 2005 to 2017, he directed two primary healthcare centers in Barcelona, leading a team of 100 professionals. He introduced new organizational methods and integrated these centers into university teaching units. Since 2020, he has been part of the innovation team at Institut Català de la Salut, working on strategic plans and supporting research institutes.
Dr Cos is also involved in diabetes research and has participated in numerous clinical trials. He has held various leadership roles, including vice chairman and chairman of Primary Care Diabetes Europe. Additionally, he is an associate professor at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and an associate editor of the Primary Care Diabetes journal.
