    Festo Dominick Makoba is a Tanzanian water and sanitation engineer with over 10 years of experience working with both local communities and international organizations to improve sanitation and living conditions. His work has focused on building safe, low-cost toilets and drainage systems, particularly in low-income communities. Festo has led and collaborated on several research projects, such as the simplified sewerage initiative in the Vingunguti community in Dar es Salaam and risk mapping in flood-prone areas. He has also coordinated the KNOW Global Research Project for Tanzania, aimed at making cities more equitable and sustainable. Festo holds an MSc in Global Prosperity from University College London (UCL) and a BSc in Environmental Engineering from Ardhi University. His academic background and expertise enable him to connect science, local knowledge, and action, driving impactful solutions that help communities live healthier, safer, and more dignified lives.
