    Joseph Cook is an anthropologist who helps lead the UCL Citizen Science Academy at the Institute for Global Prosperity. His previous ethnographic work has focused on a wide variety of life experiences in London, engaging with everyone from boat-dwellers (see Navigating the System) to commodities traders, pharmacists (see The Architecture of Pharmacies) to architects. He also chairs the citizen science working group of the London Prosperity Board and is on the Steering Committee of UCL Urban Laboratory. His latest citizen science project has been in Tower Hamlets, east London, where he has been training and supporting a group of care leavers to undertake qualitative research to inform local policymaking.
