Mirjam Võsaste is a plant ecologist specializing in urban biodiversity and currently serves as the Urban Nature Coordinator at the Tartu City Government. With a focus on integrating nature-based solutions into urban planning, Mirjam works on enhancing the ecological resilience of cities through sustainable green infrastructure. Her expertise spans urban biodiversity, ecological connectivity, and transforming urban green spaces to support both human well-being and biodiversity. Passionate about making cities more sustainable and restoring natural habitats, she leads the urbanLIFEcircles project, which aims to improve climate resilience and biodiversity in urban environments. Mirjam’s work bridges science, policy, and community engagement to create more livable and environmentally-friendly cities.
