Cand. Agro., PhD., Professor and Vice Department Head for Research and Innovation at Aalborg University, Denmark. ML obtained her MSc and PhD degree at the former Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, now Copenhagen University. She is specialized within plants, plant pathology, molecular biology, fungal biotechnology and in the development of biorefinery processes focusing on utilisation of plant biomasses and organic residues from agricultural and food production. Her expertise includes hydrolytic enzymes and evaluation for biomass deconstruction, development of biocatalysts for production of enzymes, biochemicals including lactic acid, and recombinant proteins using metabolic engineering. She currently directs several projects and project consortia within biorefining of green crops (e.g. clover grasses) for extraction of feed and food grade proteins and utilization of the residues for different purposes such as cattle feed, biogas and lactic acid fermentation.
