Julija Menise is an expert in the review and analysis of international standards and national laws and policy instruments related to human rights, labour rights, conflict minerals, environment, and supply chain traceability, among others.
Julija’s role at TDi Sustainability centres around working on advisory projects for clients related to the development of responsible sourcing programs, including supply chain mapping and risk assessments, due diligence assessments, training, supplier monitoring, capacity building, and continuous improvement. She is a trained facilitator and stakeholder mapping and engagement professional, and in her role at TDi, she has been leading multiple on-site stakeholder workshops and convening long-term industry processes lasting several years.
Julija has extensive onsite assessment experience conducting social and labour due diligence assessments and management system assessments in industries ranging from mining, smelting, manufacturing, and retail to wood products, electronics, and food and beverage in over 40 countries in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, and Central Asia, including China and India.
Julija holds a BA in Public Law, an MA in Jurisprudence from the Police Academy of Latvia, and an LL.M. in Human Rights Law and Intellectual Property Rights from Lund University, Sweden. She is fluent in English, Russian, and Latvian, and proficient in Swedish.
