Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN)

Central to the school’s research excellence is the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN)—a world-leading, multidisciplinary institute housed within the school. IPAN conducts high-impact research across four domains: healthy active living, food and nutrition, chronic disease prevention, and the biology of health and disease. Its work spans laboratory-based studies to policy-shaping interventions, addressing health across the lifespan—from infancy to older adulthood.

IPAN collaborates with government, industry, and community partners to develop solutions that improve public health and reduce chronic disease. Flagship initiatives like TransformUs and the INFANT program exemplify IPAN’s commitment to translating research into practice.

Together, the School and IPAN form a vibrant academic ecosystem dedicated to advancing health, performance, and wellbeing through science, innovation, and community impact.
