Mark Cairnie (Arlington, VA) earned his Ph.D. in power electronics from the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES) at Virginia Tech in 2025. During his Ph.D. program, Mark worked as the student lead on the ARPA-E OPEN award to develop the cable-integrated power electronics concept. He was the recipient of the Bradley Fellowship (2020) at Virginia Tech, awarding students full tuition to complete their studies at the university, published 15 academic publications, and submitted 3 patents and 8 invention disclosures. He is currently the founder of Scaled Power Solutions, LLC.
