Mostafa Fayek is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Manitoba (UM) and founding director of the Manitoba Isotope Research Facility (MIRF) and the Earth Materials and Archaeometry Center (EMAC). He is a world expert in critical metals research (e.g., U) and isotope geochemistry. Dr. Fayek has over 25 years supervising large projects (e.g., team leader for the investigation of natural analogues for the disposal of spent-fuel nuclear fuel, Oak Ridge National Laboratory) and working with industry partners. He has over 170 career publications that are focused on ore deposit research. Fayek is a Fellow of the SEG and GSA.
