Dr Catherine Elliott is Director of Research at Cancer Research UK, overseeing the charity’s research funding strategy and portfolio. She leads CRUK’s efforts to support world-class cancer research across discovery, translational, and clinical domains.
Catherine trained as a clinical academic obstetrician her career spans all aspects of medical strategy and funding. She has held senior roles at the Medical Research Council and the University of Edinburgh. At CRUK, she is instrumental in shaping funding programmes that accelerate progress against cancer and ensure research delivers real-world impact.
Catherine is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and diversity in science, and regularly represents CRUK in national and international research forums.
