David is the Health & Life Science Partner for UK and Ireland at Atos, a highly experienced health sector digital executive and former NHS CDIO.
With more than 20 years working with the NHS and other health systems globally, he has broad experience of health sector digital strategy as well as the opportunities and challenges of introducing and sustaining digital transformation in a healthcare setting. He is particularly experienced in ensuring adequate attention is given to human factors of change to ensure benefits realisation; and in the use of Open Data Standards to extract value from primary and secondary use of healthcare data. He is currently leading the formation of a Digital Hospital Centre of Excellence to provide investigatory, experimental and implementation support for organisations undertaking major transformation to their clinical pathways and other ways of working enabled by digital, including those building major new hospital estates over the coming years.
David holds an MSc in Digital Health Leadership from the NHS Digital Academy and Imperial College London and has chaired and founded several innovative health and MedTech startup companies in the UK and internationally. Most recently he was part of the founding team for a UK-based startup, developing technology to support orchestration of integrated care pathways for virtual ward / hospital-at-home, and a Canadian startup developing an AI-based medical device for continual, predictive monitoring of Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.
