Bio

About & Expertise

I am a biomedical scientist specializing in bridging medical laboratory sciences with marine concervation research. My work focuses on pioneering cell therapy, stem cell transplantation, and regenerative biology in reef-building corals, aiming to develop innovative biomedical tools to support coral resilience and restoration. I have developed and optimized stem cell isolation and transplantation procedures in Hexacorallia models such as Nematostella vectensis, combining clinical laboratory techniques with marine biology. My research interests also include coral immunology, marine invertebrate husbandry, and applying advanced cellular techniques such as flow cytometry and microscopy to understand coral health and regeneration.

Career Summary

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where I lead projects that integrate stem cell biology with marine conservation. I have received several prestigious scholarships and awards including the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Accomplishments and research grants supporting my work in coral cell therapy. I have presented my research nationally and internationally at major conferences such as the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) and the International Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology (ISDCI), where I was the sole Ph.D. student invited to present a plenary session. Alongside research, I have extensive experience mentoring students and managing coral husbandry systems to ensure reproducibility and regulatory compliance. Earlier in my career, I also gained clinical laboratory experience in therapeutic radiology and endocrinology as part of my medical laboratory sciences training.
