    Dr. Davis is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Director of the Child and Adolescent Research Design and Support (CAHRDS) unit and the Louisville Twin Study. Her PhD is in nursing with doctoral and post-doctoral training in developmental psychology. Her current research is focused on health and developmental equity, especially early childhood mental health. Additional interests are early childhood development, promoting positive parenting, prevention of behavioral and mental health problems, and factors associated with risks for dementias. In addition to expertise in various areas of content, Dr. Davis has experience in planning and implementing both qualitative and quantitative studies, leading multi-disciplinary teams of clinicians and researchers conducting team scinece, database development and data management, grant and manuscript preparation, and mentoring cross-disciplinary undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral trainees and faculty. She represents the University nationally in multiple professional leadership roles related to child health and development.

    Her work related to behavioral health and psychotropic medication use has been done in collaboration with others including the following: Drs. W. David Lohr and Jennifer Le (child and adolescent psychiatrists), Drs. V. Faye Jones and Jennifer Porter (general pediatricians), Dr. Michelle Stevenson (pediatric emergency medicine), and Dr. Yana Feygin and Kahir Jawad (biostatisticians). Each member of the team has brought important prospectives to the projects as clinicians and/or researchers.
