Before joining WMO, Johannes Cullmann was coordinating water activities for the German Government.
He headed the German IHP Committee for eight years and was elected President of the UNESCO IHP Council in 2012.
He combines a strong academic background with experience in the field of implementing technical and operational water management and forecasting systems. Johannes holds a PhD in flood forecasting as well as a Habilitation in hydrology.
