Hashum is the senior policy advisor on population health, having joined the NHS Confederation in June 2021. He leads on the population health workstream with a key focus on eliminating health inequalities and how health and social care systems move towards integrated care systems.
Working in public health since 2005 has provided him with experience of tackling health inequalities at a local level within the NHS and local authorities, and also at a national level as a civil servant within Public Health England and the Cabinet Office Race Disparity Unit.
