Hazel Cheeseman is the Chief Executive of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), a UK public health charity dedicated to eliminating the harm caused by tobacco. With extensive experience in public health policy and tobacco control, Hazel has been a leading voice in shaping effective strategies to reduce smoking rates and address health inequalities.
Hazel has led key areas of policy development, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. She has worked closely with government departments, local authorities, and the NHS to support the implementation of evidence-based measures that drive progress toward a smoke-free UK.
As Chief Executive, she will steer the charity through the next phase in its work to end the harms from smoking supporting the passage of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill and ensuring that the government makes good on its commitment to set out a roadmap to a smoke-free country.
