Justine Renard has over 15 years of experience in cannabis research. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Paris Descartes University in France and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Western University in Ontario, where her research focused on the brain mechanisms underlying substance use and addiction, with a particular emphasis on cannabis and its mental health implications. Justine started her career as a neuroscientist, advancing knowledge on how cannabis affects brain function and mental health. Building on this strong scientific foundation, she has transitioned into her current role as a senior researcher and policy analyst at the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), where she leads key research and policy initiatives to address the changing landscape of cannabis use and reduce its harms, particularly among vulnerable populations.
