Karen Hecht

Dr. Karen Hecht serves as the Vice President of Science at AstaReal Inc., the leading producer of the world’s most researched natural astaxanthin derived from algae. She specializes in algal molecular biology, a field she explored as a postdoctoral associate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Dr. Hecht holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto. At AstaReal, she leads the innovation program, driving research and product innovations to amplify the benefits of astaxanthin for human health.
