Kimani Nehusi currently teaches in the Department of Afrikology at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. His scholarship is distinguished by strong interest in the Afrocentric study of the Afrikan World, from ancient times to the future. He has also developed expertise in the study of Guyana and the Caribbean. He has published extensively in each of these areas.

Nehusi graduated from the University of Guyana and the University College of London and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. He has held positions at universities in Guyana, the UK and USA, lectured in colleges and communities in the Caribbean, North America, Europe and Afrika. He was the Founding Director of the Afrika Studies Center at the University of East London, UK. He developed programmes in Afrikan and Afrikan Caribbean Studies at Parkwood College, Sheffield, and several other tertiary institutions in the UK. He has appeared as an Expert Witness before the Afrikan Ancestral Land Commission for the Government of Guyana and Expert Witness in Afrikan Land Rights before the United Nations, where he also appeared as an Expert Witness for Reparations for Afrikan People.

He represented Guyana in Track and Field, was National Coach and was honored by the International Amateur Athletic federation for his services to the sport.
