Mr Konstantinos Bouras is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in medical retina and uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He also serves as the Clinical Director at Moorfields at CUH.
With a medical degree and PhD (with distinction) from the University of Athens Medical School, Mr Bouras completed his specialist ophthalmology training in both Athens and London. He further honed his expertise through fellowships in medical retina and uveitis at St Thomas’ Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
His clinical interests encompass a range of retinal conditions including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion and central serous chorioretinopathy. Mr Bouras is adept in various treatments such as intravitreal injections, retinal laser therapies and YAG laser capsulotomy.
An active researcher, Mr Bouras has published on topics including hypertensive retinopathy and genetic retinal disorders. He is a member of the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) and has been recognised with the NHS Leadership Academy Award.
