Matti Koivula, Ph. D., is a Research Professor in forest entomology in Luke. He is specialized on forest biodiversity, entomology and ornithology, and community analysis. Koivula has contributed to and led several major research projects, mostly on the relationship between biodiversity and forest management, and is currently involved in, among others, two Horizon projects coordinated by Luke (SafeNet and Trees4Adapt). He has done academic supervision, research and teaching in several universities since the early 1990s, and has published nearly 300 peer-reviewed and other scientific papers (h-index 36; Google Scholar).
