Neil Macdonald, Co-Founder and CEO at Thrive a Social Value and Corporate Responsibility management and reporting platform

For more than 20 years, Neil has been a ‘sustainability entrepreneur’. In that time he has founded a number of businesses that help organisations better appraise and report data related to social value, sustainability and corporate responsibility.

He is a Chartered Scientist and a member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences. He also sits on the board of the Impact Evaluation Standard (IES) – the only social value reporting platform that is fully aligned to the government’s Social Value Model.

Through Neil’s work in the third sector, he had seen the headaches caused by trying to communicate social impact. There was a great deal of ‘good’ being lost in the system; with activities going untracked or under reported, there was a lost opportunity for large companies to really shout about the value they were adding to both community and environment.

He teamed up with Benjamin Fellowes, an international tech entrepreneur, and together they created an easy to use platform to allow companies to manage and capture their corporate responsibility activities.

Thrive supports some of the country’s best known organisations to capture, value and report on their Social Value. Thrive also supports the management and reporting of volunteering and community investment initiatives for firms across the globe.
