    Paul A.W Edwards

Emeritus reader, Department of Pathology and Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre
    University of Cambridge

Dr Edwards obtained his BA in Biochemistry and PhD at The University of Cambridge. After a position at the University of Oxford he began nearly 50 years in cancer research by joining the London Branch of Ludwig Cancer Research. He returned to Cambridge in 1984, to join the Department of Pathology. His main research interest is breast cancer. Initially he modelled tumour development in breast, later moving into cytogenetics and genomics—analysing structural and 3-D changes in DNA, in breast cancer and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. His interest in the structure of tumours arose from teaching cancer biology and histopathology.
