Eberhard Falck is a geologist with more than 40 years of experience in mineral raw materials supply issues, minerals policy advice to the European Commission and the European Parliament, mining legacy and radioactive waste management, as well as knowledge co-creation through stakeholder involvement

He trained at the University of Kiel (DE) and the ETH Zürich (CH) and obtained his PhD in environmental geochemistry from the Technical University of Darmstadt (DE). Stations of his professional career included the British Geological Survey, consultancy companies in Italy, Germany and the UK, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA, Vienna, AT), the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Petten (NL). In the past he has been a lecturer at the Technical University Berlin (DE), more recently he held a professorship in environmental sciences at the Université de Versailles – Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (FR) and currently is a visiting professor at IMT Atlantique (formerly Ecole des Mines Nantes, FR). He has been the foundation vice-president of the INTRAW International Raw Materials Observatory and its president for the past three years. He is currently based in Paris.
