Prof. Price is a consultant cardiologist and intensivist at Royal Brompton Hospital in London and the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College, London. A passionate advocate for improving outcomes in acute cardiovascular care, she chairs the Pan-London Cardiogenic Shock Board and plays a leading role in shaping policy and practice across Europe as Vice-President and Advocacy Committee Chair of the European Society of Cardiology. Prof. Price has helped develop numerous international guidelines and consensus statements on key areas including valvular heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, and the use of extracorporeal support and echocardiography in critical care.
Prof. Price trained at King’s College London and continued her specialist training in cardiology and intensive care medicine at St Thomas’, St George’s and Royal Brompton hospitals in London. During her cardiology training, she undertook a fellowship in echocardiography under Professor Jos Roelandt at the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, in the Netherlands. She was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London and subsequently received the British Heart Foundation Jill Dando GUCH Fellowship, enabling her to pursue advanced training in imaging and the management of critically ill grown-up congenital heart disease (GUCH) patients.
With a deep commitment to advancing science and education, Prof. Price serves as Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal and holds Honorary Membership of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. She remains a driving force in multidisciplinary research and training, regularly contributing to major publications and delivering invited lectures around the world. Her work spans from foundational echocardiography to the complexities of managing adult congenital heart disease in critically ill patients. She continues to support collaborative research that bridges specialties and transforms care for high-risk cardiovascular patients.
