Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor Tracey Wade has worked as a clinician and researcher in eating disorders for over 30 years.
She is the director of the Blackbird Initiative, and the Flinders University Services for Eating Disorders (FUSED). She has over 300 publications in peer reviewed journals. Her contribution to the field of mental health has been recognised widely. In 2015 she was elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
In 2016 she was made an Inaugural Honorary Fellow of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT). She is a recipient of the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED) Distinguished Achievement Award (2019); Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) Outstanding Clinician Award (2020); AACBT Distinguished Career Award (2023); AED Leadership Award in Research (2025); ANZAED Lifetime Achievement Award (2025). Over 2024 to 2028 she is supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council Investigator Grant 2025665.
