South Karelia District of Social & Health Services

There are many problems with the design of existing ambulances that may impact negatively on patients’ care and frontline ambulance clinicians alike.  The Smart Ambulance European Procurers Platform (SAEPP) is comprised of ambulance services, healthcare research bodies, hospitals and other healthcare organisations who formed a consortium with the aim of designing and building an emergency ambulance fit for the 21st century.

In Finland, South Karelia Social and Health Care District (Eksote) was involved in the SAEPP project. In this ebook, representatives of Eksote explain why it was so important to be a partner in the platform and how the changes brought about have benefited citizens receiving their services.
