Accredited by AACSB International, the school offers several undergraduate and Master’s degree programs, including the fully online or hybrid Master of Science for Applied Data Science for Business (MS-ADSB).
Master of Science for Applied Data Science for Business program
MS-ADSB students choose a specialisation in Business Intelligence & Analytics, Enterprise Analytics, or, in collaboration with Oregon Health Sciences University, Health & Clinical Informatics. Unlike many data science programs, the MS-ADSB program integrates technical data science skills with a managerial focus.
Students learn technical skills such as designing and supporting data science projects, interpreting and communicating the results, and implementing company-wide digital transformation as a manager, not just a technical analyst.
Internship opportunities
As such, the School of Business benefits from the local business community, which includes businesses that range from major corporations to innovative startups. Students find multiple internships and networking opportunities.
The school emphasises experiential learning, so students are encouraged to apply their learned knowledge to real-world business challenges through consulting projects, case competitions, and collaborative work with Portland-area organisations.
Capstone project
Further, part of the MS-ADSB curriculum includes guided opportunities to apply the student’s data science skills through a Capstone project at the end of the student’s program, in collaboration with a local business, blending technical skills with managerial ability.
