Businesses in Lichfield are set to benefit from a new programme, aimed at helping with expansion and growth…

The Business Growth Programme will help business across Lichfield to expand and create new jobs.

The £33m programme is managed by Birmingham City Council’s Business Development and Innovation Team and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

It is expected some 1,300 new roles could be created as a result of the programme, which will help hundreds of Lichfield businesses.

The programme supports business to business companies as well as small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the Greater Birmingham, Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and The Marches LEP areas.

It offers grants ranging between £10,000 and £200,000 to help firms increase their competitiveness.

Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for economic growth, development and environment Ian Pritchard said: “There are so many opportunities for businesses based in the district through this programme and I really hope local businesses will seize this opportunity and apply for grant funding.”
