With a variety of applications, the Shell Card offers a comprehensive solution to the management and efficiency of public sector fleets

Public sector organisations rely on their fleets to improve their operational efficiency, helping to deliver high-quality services while reducing costs. How fuel payments are managed can have a significant impact.

Leaving drivers to manage payments themselves can be less convenient and efficient – all while creating extra admin for fleet managers. It can also leave fleets without access to competitive fuel pricing and easy access to the network of refuelling stations they need for reliable operations. This becomes even more complex when managing a mixed internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) fleet. Fortunately, there is already a solution.

The Shell Card: Your all-in-one mobility solution

The Shell Card can make managing a mixed fleet easier, while helping to improve operational efficiency through:

  • Convenience – Drivers have one card for all their daily mobility expenses and access to an extensive refuelling network.
  • Control – Easy management of cards, payments and invoicing through the Shell Fleet Hub online portal, which helps avoid unnecessary admin.
  • Savings – Competitive commercial terms for refuelling and recharging, with payments managed through a single invoice, for greater transparency and to eliminate hidden fees.
  • Security – Chip, PIN, and e-PIN features help to give you greater protection against fuel fraud.

Taking the complexity out of managing mixed fleets

The Shell Card also makes operating a mixed fleet of ICE vehicles and EVs simple.

Alongside traditional forecourts, the Shell Card provides access to over 20,000 public charge points within the Shell Recharge network. (1) This includes rapid and ultra-rapid charge points at Shell forecourts, supplied by 100% renewable energy* and over 7,000 ubitricity on-street charge points. (2)

The Shell Card allows you to manage fuel and electric charging payments with a single card and invoice.

This means you can reduce the time spent on admin, control costs across your mixed fleet and make it simpler for drivers to change vehicles when needed.

How to access the Shell Card for your public sector fleet

You can access the Shell Card under the ‘Fuel Cards and Associated Services VI’ (RM6186) section of the Crown Commercial Service procurement framework.
