UK and Poland strengthen cooperation at NATO summit

During the NATO Summit in Lithuania, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Polish President Andrzej Duda held a meeting to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional security concerns

Both leaders of UK and Poland acknowledged the significant progress in various areas, particularly defence cooperation, at the NATO Summit in Lithuania.

They also expressed their commitment further to deepen collaboration between the United Kingdom and Poland.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine was a stark reminder of the importance of interoperability among NATO forces.

Prime Minister Sunak and President Duda agreed that the alliance must continue strengthening its defence industries and capabilities to respond effectively to emerging security threats. By enhancing cooperation and interoperability, NATO can better address the challenges of countries like Russia.

Broadening Cooperation: Tackling illegal migration

In addition to defence matters, the leaders discussed broader areas of collaboration between the UK and Poland. One key aspect was tackling illegal migration, and they welcomed efforts to develop a working arrangement between the UK and Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.

This cooperative approach aims to address the challenges of illegal migration and enhance border security.

The UK Prime Minister and Polish President expressed their satisfaction with the progress made in their bilateral cooperation and discussed the importance of further collaboration on various fronts.

As the NATO Summit continued, they looked forward to exploring additional opportunities for strengthening ties between the two nations.
